Ib Kamara Closes Off-White’s First Post-Abloh Chapter

Kamara’s relationship with Off-White started before the title. After connecting with Abloh in 2019, he worked with the house as a stylist, then became art and image director in 2022 following Abloh’s death. He later formally assumed the creative director role in 2024.

His collections pushed Off-White through jazz, tailoring, African references, outer space and New York creative culture. Fall 2026 became one of the clearest examples, revisiting an unrealised idea Abloh had developed around Miles Davis and jazz, which Ib Kamara expanded through his own research into Davis’s archive.

Kamara’s exit lands during a wider restructuring of the house. LVMH sold its controlling stake to Bluestar Alliance in 2024, while Off-White has since expanded into lower-priced L/AB products, new retail partnerships and additional categories. The brand has also closed stores in China and its New York flagship.

For September 2026, Off-White has no runway show scheduled and no successor announced. That leaves a larger question hanging over its next phase: which parts of Off-White belong permanently to the house, and which depended on the individual creative force steering it?

The first major post-Abloh chapter has now reached its endpoint with Ib Kamara.
