From the Cinnabar Red, Kith-developed Vitality Green to Techno Violet, the collaboration between Kith and BMW has always been a playful exploration of color. On August 11, the duo announced the fourth chapter of their partnership, this time with the renowned Inka Orange taking center stage, to celebrate Kith’s 15th anniversary. Designed by Ronnie Fieg - founder of Kith, BMW’s iconic orange hue covered the exteriors of one-of-one restorations of a 1972 BMW 3.0 CSi and a 1987 BMW M6 E24. Yet, the restoration of these vehicles did not stop at a color.

For this project, the BMW 3.0 CSi underwent a complete “frame-off” restoration, during which the old paint was stripped from its body to reveal the bare metal surface. The exterior therefore became a “blank canvas,” then finished in Inka Orange that created a fresh, vibrant appearance. Alongside the iconic color, the car was restored using original components coming from BMW archives, including its M30 straight-six, transmission, rear axle, suspension and brakes. While the exterior and equipment bear the unmistakable mark of BMW, the interior of this BMW 3.0 CSi is deeply infused with Kith’s style, as Fieg used caramel-colored leather embossed with the Kith monogram pattern for the seat upholstery.

The 1987 BMW M6 E24 - the second car in this project - was treated in the same way as the BMW 3.0 CSi. After experiencing a comprehensive rotisserie restoration, the body of the car was taken down to bare metal then given a new coat of Inka Orange. The embossed Kith monogram pattern reappeared within the vehicle’s caramel-colored leather interior, seemingly underscoring the brand’s influence on the project. For this restoration, Kith and BMW retained the original S38 inline-six engine, Getrag 5-speed manual transmission and BBS Style 5 wheels - details that defined the 1987 BMW M6 E24.

Despite the immense dedication put into this restoration, the fourth collaboration between Kith and BMW is set to expand even further, as a broader Kith for BMW 2026 apparel and accessories collection was launched globally on August 17, 2026. Yet these restored vehicles remained the primary inspiration for the collection, underscoring Kith’s artistry and BMW’s enduring legacy.
