Central Cee Makes His Burberry Runway Debut

The rapper’s appearance extended a relationship already built through campaigns and previous front-row appearances. This time, he moved from spectator to model, walking through Chelsea College of Arts in a look that matched the collection’s looser, more lived-in attitude.

Daniel Lee described the season as one of Burberry’s most “soulful,” shaped by intentional imperfection and the sense that clothes should look owned, worn and handled. British textile artist Celia Birtwell became the collection’s central reference, with her 1960s and ’70s florals, faces and drawings reworked across tailoring, trenches and the house check.

Central Cee’s debut sat inside a wider British frame. Jorja Smith, Skepta and Kano appeared in the front row, while four decades of David Bowie supplied the soundtrack. The effect positioned Burberry less as an isolated luxury house and more as a meeting point for British fashion, music and visual culture.

Celebrity casting can easily become a distraction from clothes, but here the choice carries continuity. Central Cee had already become part of Burberry’s contemporary image before setting foot on the runway.

For a collection built around British character and creative imperfection, the catwalk debut of Central Cee felt unusually at home.
