Timelessly wild and androgynous.

Cartier has never treated wildlife as decoration. Into the Wild pushes that bestiary further, introducing rhinoceroses, parrots and carp alongside the familiar tiger, crocodile and panther.

At the center of the campaign is Tilda Swinton. Photographed by Sølve Sundsbø, the Oscar-winning actress looks ethereal as always: Aristocratic, futuristic and otherworldly.

Blending the signature style of the house and the actress, we have one of the strongest collaborations among the September luxury launches.

The Faune & Flore de Cartier rings make that attitude physical. Animal heads stretch across the hand instead of remaining confined to conventional jewelry proportions. Rhinoceros horns rise from grey agate; parrots appear in vivid combinations of stone and lacquer; carp and crocodiles turn jewelry into miniature sculptures. Brushed, polished and gem-set surfaces imitate hide, scales and plumage without pursuing literal realism.

Historic Cartier animals meanwhile return with mechanical intelligence intact. Articulated tiger and crocodile jewels recall pieces associated with figures including the Duchess of Windsor and María Félix, yet their construction remains as compelling as their provenance. Hidden clasps can disappear inside an animal’s mouth, allowing jaws to seemingly bite the jewel closed, while flexible bodies follow the wearer’s movement.

The Panthère receives another material interpretation. White-gold bracelets combine two feline heads with diamond settings designed to evoke the granular appearance of galuchat, or stingray skin, extending Cartier’s fascination with translating natural texture through precious materials.

Swinton’s role also extends beyond wearing the jewelry. She lends her voice to films exploring the craftspeople behind the collection, drawing attention to goldsmithing, stone cutting, lacquer, marquetry and other métiers that make Cartier’s creatures convincing at extraordinarily small scales.

That makes this global brand ambassador partnership especially persuasive. Cartier has chosen someone capable of inhabiting its mythology without becoming overwhelmed by it. In Into the Wild, Swinton does not tame the Maison’s menagerie. She looks entirely at home inside it.
