Chappell Roan steps into the legacy of MAC Viva Glam with a limited-edition lip collection that feels almost impossible for anyone else to own. Fronting an Inez & Vinoodh-lensed campaign, Roan joins a Viva Glam lineage that has included RuPaul, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Kim Petras and other artists who understand makeup as performance, politics and self-invention at once.

The collection features three lip products co-created with Chappell herself. UnNatural Red Head, a MACximal Silky Matte Viva Glam Lipstick, arrives as a deep cherry red made for drama. Roan of Arc, a Lustreglass Sheer-Shine Lipstick, softens the story into a mid-toned plum. Damnsel, a Lipglass Air Non-Sticky Gloss, finishes the trio with sheer red plum and gold pearl. Together, they read like three acts of the same character: the red-haired heroine, the saint, the damsel who refuses the role written for her.

What makes the launch feel right is how naturally Roan fits the Viva Glam archive. Since 1994, the initiative has raised more than half a billion dollars for charities supporting gender, sexual, racial and environmental equality. For this collection, the message remains direct: three lip products, 100% giving back. Beauty here is not treated as an escape from the world, but as a way of showing up inside it.

Chappell Roan’s own statement gives the collaboration its emotional center. She describes Viva Glam as more than makeup, calling it a way to show up for communities and make real change. That belief sits easily inside her beauty language, which has always borrowed from drag, camp, theatre, queer nightlife and the kind of glamour that turns visibility into power.

This moment matters because Chappell Roan does not make MAC look newly rebellious. She reminds us that rebellion has always been part of Viva Glam’s bloodstream. A lipstick can be color, costume, donation and declaration at once. In her hands, red becomes a stage light, plum becomes a spell, and gloss catches applause before it leaves the room.
