Mirrors multiply everything until one person becomes several versions of the same fantasy. The whole show exudes.

It sweats, shivers, watches itself, enjoys being watched. Sound, casting, beauty, accessories and clothes share one temperature: dark, sultry, humid, slightly dangerous. Haider Ackermann has proved again that he and Tom Ford are an almost unnervingly natural match. Each collection opens another room inside the house’s sexual mythology, and every new discovery comes through precise details instead of visual overload.

Nothing has to scream. The room is already breathing heavily.

The Mirror Wants You Back

Before the runway, Ackermann introduced the season through imagery of Scott Barnhill confronting his own reflection with an almost erotic intimacy. Inside the show, mirrors multiplied bodies and returned every glance.

That reflection becomes the collection’s psychological engine. These characters understand their attractiveness. They watch themselves performing it. Desire turns inward before it reaches anybody else.

The mirror therefore carries far more than set-design value. It introduces narcissism as pleasure, self-awareness as seduction, vanity as confidence. Tom Ford has always understood the power of being seen. Ackermann introduces another layer: the pleasure of seeing yourself being seen.

Models interact with their reflections as they move through the space. Bare skin appears twice, then four times. A sharply cut jacket gains multiple silhouettes. Satin catches light from several directions. The room becomes a machine for multiplying desire. There is something almost voyeuristic about watching people who seem perfectly capable of satisfying their own gaze.

The compatibility has become impossible to ignore. Ackermann has spent his career working with nocturnal color, elongated tailoring, bare skin, beautiful men, languid women, silk, sharp shoulders and the quiet arrogance of people who know precisely how good they look.

Tom Ford built a universe around sex, glamour, narcissism, nightlife, wealth and the pleasure of presentation. Their worlds meet naturally. Yet Ackermann keeps finding ways to make the marriage feel newly illicit.

Here, he loosens up. Swimwear appears with real conviction. Thongs slip underneath knitwear. Robes carry the intimacy of a hotel corridor at three in the morning. Jackets open over skin. Extreme luxury is handled with an almost careless hand.

Nothing Is Complicated, Everything Is Loaded

A remarkable amount of the collection is technically direct. Crewneck sweaters. Lean trousers. Sharp jackets. Fluid dresses. Long coats. Silk robes. Swimsuits. Jumpsuits.

Ackermann rarely needs to stack five gestures onto one garment because he understands how much tension a single decision can create.

Put a pale thong beneath an ordinary sweater and the sweater changes completely. Remove the shirt underneath a severe jacket and tailoring becomes intimate. Throw an extravagant vicuña coat across a leather weekend bag and luxury suddenly looks almost indecent in its casualness.

There is always something else to discover in an Ackermann show: the exact height of a trouser waist, a flash of underwear, the way a lapel frames bare skin, a rose placed against tailoring, a shoe that alters the posture of the entire body.

Nothing feels overworked. The eroticism comes from precision. Ackermann still understands that Tom Ford begins with a great suit.

Shoulders remain exact. Jackets hold the upper body with authority. Trousers fall narrow or loosen into liquid lines. Coats extend the figure. Military references add severity before the styling starts undoing it.

That structure provides the boundaries the rest of the collection can play against. A jacket feels hotter because it still looks disciplined. Bare skin gains charge because the tailoring around it stays controlled. Fluid silk trousers move because the torso above them remains sharply framed. This push between structure and release gives the collection its physical tension.

Satin, Leather, Vicuña, Skin

One of the strongest objects in Tom Ford SS27 is also one of the smallest: the sculptural strapless bra.

Its double-volume cups push outward with the assertiveness of mid-century bullet lingerie, while visible underwiring and glossy satin turn underwear into architecture. Electric blue, ivory and black versions make the shape even more graphic.

The bra creates the silhouette instead of simply revealing the body. Ackermann understands that lingerie can be one of fashion’s hardest structures. Cups control projection. Underwire fixes position. Satin exaggerates volume through shine.

Everything surrounding it can then loosen. This is the collection at its best: an apparently obvious symbol of sex translated through actual construction. The body becomes part of the design equation.

Swimwear becomes a genuine proposition this season. Tiny bikinis, cutout one-pieces and body-conscious shapes move naturally through the collection, sometimes standing alone, sometimes appearing beneath outerwear.

Materials carry their own erotic hierarchy. Satin behaves almost like liquid under the mirrors. It catches flashes of light across bras, trousers and evening pieces, turning movement into reflection. Deep reds and stronger blues become especially saturated through that sheen.

Leather brings the opposite sensation. It creates resistance, surface tension and a faint suggestion of control. Bags, jackets and sharper pieces gain weight against exposed bodies.

Cashmere brings intimacy. Its softness belongs close to skin. Then comes vicuña, one of luxury’s most precious fibers, handled with magnificent disrespect. A vicuña coat casually thrown across a leather weekend bag says more about this collection’s idea of wealth than any logo ever could.

Everybody Here Knows They Are Hot

Casting completes the fantasy.

The show gains enormous power from models at different ages and with different kinds of presence. The military-green jumpsuit on an older model is particularly effective because it shifts the conversation away from youthful nakedness and toward self-possession.

These people look experienced. They know the room. They know their bodies. They know why people are staring. Some appear almost indifferent to the attention. That indifference makes them hotter.

Ackermann’s sensuality has always depended on a certain interiority. His characters seem to carry histories into the clothes. Here, that quality fits Tom Ford beautifully because the house’s sexual confidence gains maturity. Desire becomes something possessed rather than requested.

Keep the Clothes On

SS27 feels like a milestone because Ackermann finally seems completely comfortable inside Tom Ford. The founder’s sexual mythology remains visible, yet it now behaves like raw material. Ackermann bends it toward his own darkness, his own melancholy, his own fetish with beautiful bodies held inside precise tailoring.

The risk ahead is equally clear. Sex works almost too well for him here. Power dressing suit, bare body, silk, darkness, mirror: the equation is potent enough to become a formula if repeated without mutation. That problem belongs to another season. For now, the discovery still feels active.

The show never makes fashion disappear beneath its sexuality. The clothes create the sex. That is the difference between nudity and seduction.

Haider Ackermann understands it instinctively. Tom Ford SS27 is dark, sweaty, expensive, hypnotic and horny in the most fashionable sense possible. It feels like a body running hot beneath immaculate tailoring, a room full of people pretending to behave while every reflective surface tells another story. This is the kind of fashion show that makes you want to have sex with the clothes still on. Because taking them off too quickly would ruin the best part.
