Misty Copeland, Sutton Foster, Judith Light, Audra McDonald, Lea Michele and Kara Young front the Fall 2026 Michael Kors Collection campaign, bringing Broadway, ballet and stage drama into one sharply tailored New York portrait.

These women share a relationship with live performance, where commanding attention comes before any camera begins clicking. Michael Kors has also dressed and welcomed each of them into his fashion world over the years, giving the campaign the familiarity of a reunion rather than a casting exercise.

Inez and Vinoodh photographed the six performers in stark black and white, with Carlos Nazario styling and Stephen Galloway directing movement. There is barely a set to hide behind. Coats swing, feathers fly, gloves punctuate gestures and oversized outerwear turns each body into its own piece of stage scenery. The lack of colour makes movement louder.

Misty Copeland bends the clothes through the precision of a dancer. Sutton Foster leans into theatrical gesture. Lea Michele wears a feathered hat with the kind of Fanny Brice energy that makes subtlety seem terribly overrated. Judith Light and Audra McDonald bring the authority of women who have spent decades understanding exactly how long to hold a room’s attention, while Kara Young injects a younger, playful charge into the cast.

That theatricality reaches back to the collection itself. Kors presented his 45th anniversary Fall 2026 show at Lincoln Center’s Metropolitan Opera House, grounding the milestone in the performing arts culture that has shaped his idea of New York glamour since childhood. The campaign carries that relationship forward, accompanied by donations to Broadway Cares in each performer’s name.

45 years could easily have produced an anniversary campaign obsessed with archives, old photographs and retrospective nostalgia. Michael Kors chose performers instead. The decision makes his history visible through people who understand presence, discipline and the delicious drama of making an entrance.

After 45 years, Michael Kors still knows that clothes can open the curtain, but somebody fabulous has to walk through it.
