Created by master perfumers Nadège Le Garlantezec, Shyamala Maisondieu and Antoine Maisondieu, Sweet Chemistry approaches gourmand fragrance through contrast rather than pure sugar. Blackcurrant syrup provides the opening fruitiness, orange blossom absolute forms the floral centre, and a neroli milk accord creates a softer finish. Prada describes the result as fruity, floral and sweet, built around the idea of sweetness as an emotion rather than simply intensity.
The familiar triangular Paradoxe bottle also changes mood, shifting into purple while retaining the refillable construction used across the fragrance line. The original Paradoxe bottle itself was designed around Prada’s triangle logo, turning one of the fashion house’s most recognisable codes into a beauty object.
Paradoxe launched in 2022 with Emma Watson as its muse, while Prada Beauty announced Zendaya as its newest ambassador in July 2026. Sweet Chemistry therefore gives the fragrance franchise a fresh olfactory direction and a new celebrity identity at almost the same moment.
For a scent built around contradictions, the pairing feels fitting: softness meets intensity, familiarity gets rewritten, and Prada’s newest chapter now has the unmistakable face of Zendaya.
