Valentino Vendetta entered the fragrance market as a heritage revival with a contemporary commercial purpose. The name already carried memory from the Maison’s past, yet the new launch treated Vendetta as a full modern fragrance franchise rather than a single nostalgic reference.
Vendetta Donna carried the feminine side of the duo through a floral woody structure. Created by Dominique Ropion with Andrew Everett, the fragrance centered on tuberose, red orange nectar accord, and sandalwood. This composition gave Donna a tension between brightness, floral density, and a smooth woody base. Tuberose brought the white-floral intensity, red orange added juicy liqueur-like energy, while sandalwood gave the scent a softer, more lasting sensuality.
Vendetta Uomo offered the masculine counterpart through a woody spicy construction by Marie Salamagne. Its structure used ginger extract, cinnamon liqueur accord, and patchouli, creating a profile built around heat, spice, and textured depth. The ginger gave the opening movement, the cinnamon liqueur accord added warmth and addiction, and patchouli grounded the fragrance with a darker woody trail. Together, Donna and Uomo allowed Valentino Vendetta to present seduction through two related but distinct scent languages.

Dakota Johnson and Alexander Skarsgård gave Valentino Vendetta a cinematic public face, with each actor carrying a different kind of magnetism. Johnson’s image suited the Donna fragrance through softness, irreverence, and controlled sensuality, while Skarsgård gave Uomo a cooler, more enigmatic presence. Their pairing supported the franchise idea: two figures, two scents, one emotional field.
Donna and Uomo also gave the house a classic dual launch structure that remains useful in global fragrance retail, where paired scents help consumers understand a story quickly. The launch of Valentino Vendetta connected archive, perfumery, celebrity campaign, gendered duo structure, and prestige beauty expansion in one move. It was less about bringing back an old scent exactly and more about giving an old word a new commercial life.
