On November 11 2025, Apple stepped off the tech runway and into fashion’s avant-garde lane, teaming up with Japanese design house Issey Miyake to unveil the iPhone Pocket, a 3D-knitted accessory that reimagines what a “pocket” can be.
The collaboration marks a rare crossover between two design powerhouses known for their devotion to form and function. The iPhone Pocketlooks deceptively simple: a soft, ribbed rectangle of 3D-knitted fabric, yet it hides meticulous craftsmanship inspired by Miyake’sPleats Please legacy.
Robust yet pliable, it is designed to cradle any iPhone along with small essentials like AirPods or a lip balm, offering the same tactile intimacy as a well-cut garment.
Available in two lengths, the iPhone Pocket comes as a short strap that can loop around the wrist or tie onto a bag, and a longer cross-body version. The short model features eight playful hues, from mandarin orange to peacock blue, while the long strap is available in three refined shades. True to Issey Miyake’s philosophy of “a piece of cloth,” the iPhone Pocket is seamless, stretchy, and entirely 3D-knitted in Japan, bridging Apple’s minimalist precision with Miyake’s sculptural textile artistry.
Each Pocket subtly reveals its contents when stretched: a poetic nod to transparency, motion, and the relationship between human and object. Yoshiyuki Miyamae, design director at Miyake Design Studio (Issey Miyake’s parent company), puts it simply:
“At first glance, you probably wouldn’t recognize what it is.”

Retailing at USD 149.95 for the short strap and USD 229.95 for the long, the iPhone Pocket launches on November 14 across select Apple Stores in Tokyo, Paris, London, Milan, New York, Seoul, and beyond, just in time for the holiday season. Online, the collaboration immediately drew parallels to the nostalgic iPod Sock from 2004 - a playful reminder that Apple has always known how to turn the mundane into design mythology. Two decades later, that spirit lives on, now recast in pleats.
