Shot entirely in black and white, the campaign places Teyana Taylor against an almost empty setting. A white jersey gown curves tightly around the body before opening at the hips, a sculpted mini accompanies the Le Teckel bag, and second-skin knits respond directly to the way she twists, balances and holds each pose.
Taylor’s career across dance, music and acting gives her an instinctive awareness of how clothing changes once the body begins to move. Alaïa has long cultivated similar relationships with performers, including Grace Jones and Tina Turner, women whose physical presence became inseparable from the clothes they wore.
The campaign also arrives with another layer of meaning. Summer Fall 2026 was Mulier’s final collection after five years at Alaïa, a farewell built around reduction, precision and the essential relationship between garment and body.
David Sims continues that restraint instead of turning the collection into a louder advertising spectacle. There is little scenery competing for attention and no elaborate narrative to decode. Clothes gain their drama through anatomy itself.
For a house built around the idea that silhouette only becomes complete on a living body, the campaign finds an unusually convincing final protagonist in Teyana Taylor.
