Amour Céleste 2026 marks the second Qixi Exceptional Piece created by Guerlain and Lucie Touré. While the 2025 edition introduced their collaboration through red and gold, the 2026 edition shifts to midnight blue and gold, revisiting the same fragrance and love story through a new celestial interpretation.

The beauty industry has become very good at making things new. Luxury, at its best, knows when to make something again.

For Qixi 2026, Guerlain returns to Amour Céleste, first created for the Maison’s Qixi Exceptional Piece in 2025. The decision is intriguing precisely because it resists the logic of constant novelty. The fragrance and artistic collaboration remain, while the visual interpretation evolves. Where the 2025 creation embraced red and gold, Lucie Touré’s 2026 edition turns toward midnight blue, gold, stars and hearts, evoking the Milky Way at the centre of the Qixi legend.

It is a small distinction with a larger implication. Guerlain is not simply using Qixi as a seasonal theme. It allows the festival to become a recurring ritual, one in which a familiar story can acquire a different expression with each return.

The continuity begins with the scent itself. Created by Delphine Jelk, Amour Céleste opens with the luminous freshness of bergamot and orange before moving into a floral heart of osmanthus, Sambac jasmine and rose. Its final notes of ambergris and smoked tea lend the composition a darker, lingering quality. The progression is almost narrative in itself: light gives way to intimacy, then to something more mysterious and enduring.

Touré translates that same movement into material. Known for combining paper with techniques drawn from embroidery, weaving and jewellery, the French artist begins with meticulously drawn forms before cutting each element with precision. For the 2026 edition, midnight blue paper is gilded with copper leaf, layered into petals and finished with faceted blue glass beads. Stars and hearts gather around the bottle, joined by a movable heart pendant and a ribbon bow. What might ordinarily be called packaging instead behaves like an adornment.

This philosophy has defined Guerlain since 1828. The Maison has never treated perfume as a functional beauty product alone, but as an object where fragrance, decorative arts and narrative coexist. An Exceptional Piece represents the purest form of that belief, unconstrained by mass production or seasonal trends.

It is perhaps fitting that this expression arrives during Qixi, a festival built upon distance, patience and reunion. Guerlain does not attempt to retell its ancient love story literally. Instead, Amour Céleste 2026 translates its emotional rhythm into an object whose making requires patience of its own.

The 1,770 numbered pieces are therefore not simply a statement of rarity. Scarcity may make an object exclusive, but time is what gives luxury its depth. The time invested in drawing, cutting, gilding and assembling; the time required to master a craft; and the time accumulated when a Maison returns to the same ritual year after year.

That is what distinguishes an Exceptional Piece from an ordinary limited edition. Amour Céleste 2026 is less of a product launch than another chapter in a conversation Guerlain has chosen to continue.

Because heritage is rarely created by doing something once. It is created by returning, with greater care, every time.
