Master perfumers Adriana Medina and Antoine Maisondieu built TATE 01 around ISO E Super, a woody aroma molecule known for interacting subtly with individual skin chemistry. The idea is a fragrance that shifts slightly from wearer to wearer instead of projecting one fixed personality.
Bergamot and clary sage open the composition before white florals move into amber, tonka bean, sandalwood and soft woods. Tate McRae describes fragrance as the final invisible layer of her beauty routine, even wearing the scent during rehearsals, so it warms and moves with her body.
The launch also signals something larger than a one-off perfume. Scent Beauty describes TATE 01 as the beginning of a long-term fragrance brand, with Ulta Beauty handling its first major U.S. retail expansion later in October.
Celebrity fragrance has returned strongly in recent years, but McRae’s debut avoids an oversized fantasy world. The proposition is quieter: scent as an extension of the person already wearing it.
For a performer whose image is built around movement, physicality and controlled ease, that second-skin logic gives the first beauty chapter of Tate McRae a surprisingly coherent starting point.
