On May 26, at the heart of the Palazzo del Casinò, Victoire de Castellane - the artistic director of Dior Joaillerie - unveiled DIORISSIMA, the latest jewelry collection inspired by Christian Dior and Venice - La Serenissima. The collection comprises 141 exquisite creations, 112 of them were presented in the first chapter. Through these gorgeous necklaces, rings, earrings, bracelets, earcuffs and brooches, DIORISSIMA opens up three fantastical worlds of nature: lush green gardens, deep ocean depths and skies filled with twinkling constellations.
Firstly, four-leaf clovers, wisteria, and clusters of plump berries appear in DIORISSIMA, reminiscent of Christian Dior's passionate love for the plants. Following that are the images of fish, coral, seaweed and bubbles, bringing the ocean to life through vibrant gemstones. Finally, there're designs featuring shapes of the sun, eclipse and playful clouds, creating Dior Joaillerie's distinct mysterious universe.
Continuing Dior's legacy in craftsmanship, many designs in DIORISSIMA are created using the doublet – a highly precise technique. Particularly, a thin stone will be layered on top of another to create subtle hued transitions. Another signature feature of Dior Joaillerie is its lacquer coating technique. Meticulously processed with a blend of transparent and opaque effects, lacquer subtly reflects light, creating rich and vibrant color shifts behind each piece of jewelry. This material not only enhances the color intensity of the designs but also demonstrates a pursuit of perfection, consistent with the brand's philosophy.
The shapes, cut-and-paste elements, contrasts and a vibrant gemstone palette created exunexpected combinations of gemstone. The arrangements of vibrant flower petals, coral reefs or clouds appear brought the joyful spirit to these high-end jewelry pieces. Victoire de Castellane stated that because of this, the collections are also embraced by younger clients. Besides, these elements transformed the designs in DIORISSIMA into a celebration of collage art - one of Victoire de Castellane's signature modes of expression.
