Catch all of them Pokémon! RIMOWA edition!
June 2, 2026
Some collaborations make perfect sense on paper. Others make perfect sense the moment you imagine Pikachu riding through Haneda Airport on a polished RIMOWA suitcase, looking deeply important and possibly late for boarding.
To celebrate Pokémon’s 30th anniversary, RIMOWA has unveiled a Japan-exclusive collection on June 2, 2026, that brings a playful spark to luxury travel. The release includes leather luggage charms, stickers, and a wheel set inspired by the Poké Ball, turning the sober business of moving through airports into something closer to a stylish side quest.
The partnership feels surprisingly natural. RIMOWA, founded in Germany in 1898, has long been associated with engineering, durability, and the romance of movement. Pokémon, born in Japan in 1996, has spent three decades teaching generations that every journey becomes better with curiosity, courage, and at least one loyal creature by your side. One brand builds luggage for the road. The other made “Gotta catch ’em all” a global travel philosophy before frequent-flyer points could even feel cool.
At the centre of the collection are three leather luggage charms made from Italian leather, each finished with embossed detailing. Pikachu, Charmander, and Charizard appear alongside RIMOWA’s signature suitcase imagery, bringing just enough mischief to the maison’s famously streamlined aesthetic. The charms also nod to the latest seasonal shades of RIMOWA’s Essential collection, with vivid touches of magenta and orange adding colour without sending the whole suitcase into cosplay.
For travellers who prefer their luxury with a sticker sheet, the collection also includes illustrations of Pikachu, Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle. They can be placed on luggage or travel accessories, creating the sort of customisation that says, “Yes, this is an investment suitcase. Yes, Squirtle is coming with me.”
The most collectible detail may be the wheel set, designed in a red-and-white palette inspired by the iconic Poké Ball. It also features a monogram tribute to Cologne, RIMOWA’s founding city, giving the accessory a neat bridge between German craftsmanship and Japanese pop imagination.

Available only through select RIMOWA boutiques in Japan and the brand’s local online channels, the collection has obvious collector appeal. It is small, specific, charming, and slightly dangerous for anyone who has ever packed an empty suitcase “just in case” they find something rare.
